A report of 10 August 2026 describes the fourth edition of the yearly park chess tournament in the Cologne Grüngürtel on 9 August 2026, a blitz tournament of seven rounds of five-minute games with 30 players organised with the chess boxing team Chessboxing Cologne, the University of Cologne and the club Satranç Club 2000; the Cologne Chess Association dated it to 9 August 2026 from 15:00. A German Chess Federation article of 7 July 2022 describes the regular meetings of a group of over 70 players between the tennis court and the Köln West railway station.
